Progress Update

Mar 13, 2023

A resource for the whole community

Intrigued to find out what’s going on behind the scenes at Bayspace? Here’s the first in a series of regular updates, as we count down to our eagerly anticipated opening this spring.

The restoration of our heritage building on Fernlea Terrace is moving at pace, as we progress to the final stages. The transformation to a contemporary coworking space is taking shape, and we can’t wait to share the results with you!

Although the construction work is running a little behind schedule due to external factors (availability of materials, shipping delays and supply chain issues to name but a few!) we’re extremely excited about what’s emerging behind the Georgian façade. Our members will soon be welcomed into modern workspaces with high quality facilities, accessibility, and connectivity – in a sensitively restored building with panoramic views of St Ives Bay.

The four floors of private and shared office spaces, hot desks, breakout areas and meeting rooms are linked by a lift cleverly built into the building’s core. Inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of Bayspace, so if you have any questions about disabled access ahead of our opening, please get in touch.

Once we’re up and running, our event space, meeting rooms, kitchen and exhibition spaces will be bookable by the wider community. If this is something you’re interested in, please contact our Community and Events Manager, Abbie. We’re happy to discuss any plans you might have of putting these inspiring spaces to work for the wider community – from artist talks to film nights, book clubs to food and drink experiences overlooking the bay.

We’ll be providing regular updates over the next few weeks as our opening approaches – watch this space!
